Event description:
THE SOVIET POSTER series will bring together faculty and students to discuss select posters f rom a collection of over 1,000 Soviet-era objects recently gifted to the Yale University Art Gallery by Allan Chasanoff, B.A. 1961. Drawing on the disciplinary diversity of the REEES and arts communities at Yale, these conversations seek to inspire new ways of thinking about the significance of the poster, both in and be-yond the contexts of Soviet media, history, and politics.
